Diana Dawley: A Champion for Poweshiek County.
Diana Dawley is a life-long resident of Poweshiek County who has spent the last 18 years in public service. She served as County Auditor from 2006 to 2016, solidifying the office's elections oversight and ensuring voter access to the ballot. She also ensured the office's ongoing role managing payroll, employee benefits, taxes, billing, and official land plats.
In 2016 she was elected County Supervisor, a seat she still holds and for which she is seeking re-election. Dawley currently serves as board chair, a role she has had on several occasions. During her tenure, Poweshiek County has welcomed renewable energy, specifically wind energy. The county has 237 wind turbines, generating thousands of kilowatt hours of electricity and millions in tax revenues.
As a Supervisor, Dawley has played a key role on a number of public policy matters. She sits on the county economic development board, the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention board, Poweshiek County Board of Health, Regional Mental Health Advisory Board and the NEI3A Council on Aging.
Dawley and her husband Dan farm with their son and are looking forward to the day their grandson joins the operation when he finishes college. They raise corn, beans, hay, have a stock cow herd and purchase feeders. Her summer hobbies, when she's not helping on the farm and serving Poweshiek County, are gardening and canning. Diana and her husband have two children and five grandchildren, all living in Iowa. Diana attends the Heart of Worship church in Lynnville.
